Developed as part of the Urban Plan for Sucre Municipality in Caracas, this research proposes a participatory approach to mobility planning by integrating technical analysis with community knowledge. Participatory workshops mapped mobility conflicts, service deficits, and the pedestrian routes through which residents of self-produced environments navigate gaps in the formal transportation system.
These findings were overlaid with georeferenced public transportation data, revealing critical spatial inequalities in metropolitan accessibility, including the concentration of approximately 80% of routes through a single undersized node and significant service deficits in self-produced areas. The research informed an integrated mobility strategy connecting public transportation, walkability, and metropolitan transit networks.
