Video documenting the Experts Workshop for the Territorial Planning Framework of Gran Parque Carapé, held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, on September 18, 2025. The workshop brought together 63 participants—including 53 experts from public institutions, universities, civil society organizations, local communities, and diverse professional fields—to collectively explore the ecological, productive, social, and territorial systems shaping Gran Parque Carapé.

The workshop is part of a participatory planning methodology grounded in Ecosystemic Democracy, expanding both who participates in territorial decision-making and the forms of knowledge incorporated into the process. Scientific and technical expertise, local knowledge, community perspectives, and human and non-human systems are brought into dialogue to explore relationships among biodiversity conservation, productive landscapes, territorial development, and community life.

The Territorial Planning Framework of Gran Parque Carapé is developed through a collaboration among the Intendencia de Maldonado, Ambá, and the Spatial Opportunity Lab (SOLAB) at Wentworth Institute of Technology, with support from the Wyss Foundation and the participation of Uruguayan communities, experts, and academic and territorial institutions.
