Karen Mata designed the project shown in this board, and it is an exemplification of the level of resolution often achieved by students in the last courses of their academic architectural program, just before starting their Thesis on Architecture

The core of this Studio is addressing spatial inequality, specifically the geographical isolation of self-produced neighborhoods as a consequence of topographic fractures.
Architectonically, this isolation could be faced through varied design strategies. In this case, the tower represents a vertical passage that improves the walkability between different levels of public spaces.
The proposal seeks to blur boundaries between architecture and urban design through the continuity of public connection across open and closed spaces. The building serves as a shared infrastructure to connect different city sectors through horizontal and vertical spatial public transitions. The private sector occupies commercial activities to provide civic animation to the public.
