Guest Lecture. Participatory Mapping — Harvard University.
2026
GIS Analysis of Hazard Vulnerability. Faculty: Connie Chen. Guest lecture on participatory mapping as a method for combining spatial evidence, local knowledge, and collective decision-making in territorial planning. Drawing from the territorial workshops developed for Gran Parque Carapé in Uruguay—including work in Aiguá, Garzón, Pueblo Edén, and Sierra de las Ánimas—the class examined how mapping can operate not simply as representation but as a participatory research and negotiation tool for identifying ecological, productive, cultural, and community priorities.
