San Agustín Sports Complex: Connecting Architecture

This building transformed a lower-level athletic field into a recreational center integrated with the existing school campus. Responding to significant differences in elevation, the complex establishes visual and pedestrian relationships among programs at different levels, using plazas, elevated walkways, and covered circulation to connect existing buildings with new sports facilities.

Its geometry responds to the site’s natural topography and Caracas’s tropical climate through architectural elements that provide shade, transparency, and natural ventilation.
